Here he comes….

Here comes the chaos.  My husband will be home tonight and my feet have already had to dig in.  He asked what the plans were for dinner tonight(which was leftovers) and suggested that we go out to dinner.   I told him there was no need for that and asked him what he would like…of course steak.  BUT I am very easily going to make a grilled chicken breast for myself.  The sides will be a baked potato and veggie…..doable.

I have a conflict on Friday that is going to get in the way of my exercise rotation.  Ugh already!  I have to take my son to meet his dad for the weekend and then I have to register the kids for little league after that(I can’t believe signups are already!  We spent 3/4 of the year at a baseball diamond last year due to 3 of the kids in all stars and my daughter played fall ball too).  I will decide later if I am going to swap my off day of Thursday with Friday or, if my hubby will be home, I am going to reserve the racquetball court at the Y and we can go together.  I would waaaayyy prefer the Y so we could spend time together.   Our usual Friday night without the kids is going to eat(usually wings are friday night) and then going to the eagles for drinks.  Right now, at this stage of the game, I don’t want to go out for drinks.  That is why I think if we go do something productive like the Y it would be better for me.

Ok thats the plan!

Going out to dinner is a killer!!! Before my diet quest my hubby and I ate out several times a week. To make it worse, we don’t eat cheap - ever! And what’s a meal without a great bottle of wine (and dessert for that matter)??? Our grand total for eating out was averaging around $1400-$1600 per month! To make matters worse, I eat several other meals out per week with customers (my customers are doctors who like good food as well!!). There is no doubt in my mind that this is where my extra 30 pounds came from.

So, for the last two weeks we have not eaten out at all as a family (the kids are about to revolt!). For work, I have really made an effort to monitor my consumption at restaurants and exercise as little portion control.

So what will we do with the extra $$$??? My oldest daughter is studying abroad in Spain for the summer and the rest of us are going to Cabo San Lucas in June!

Dig in deep and stay there with the hubby. You only have pounds to lose and money to gain!

I have been out to eat in my 20 days on this life change. I did it sensibly though. First we went to a buffet, which really scared me, but I just had a huge salad first, and then some grilled chicken and tons of veggies. For dessert I had fruit. Then last night we went to a little place called O’Charleys. I ordered a side salad and a club sandwich, without the mayo. Fries came along too. I ate my salad and 1/2 the sandwich. I let my kids share the fries. I have heard that if you 1/2 it, you can HAVE it. The way I see it, you are not going to spend the rest of your life avoiding restaurants so I have to find a way to take what life gives me and do it in a modified way. Keep up the work though sweetie. You can do it!!!!

It’s great to hear that your hubby will workout with you. Mine picks on me for working out, and would NEVER join me. Give him an extra kiss for that one!!

My hubby is one of those wanting to eat out guys. We still do it, but not as much as he would like. At first he use to put up a big fuss! I have had to dig my heals in many a time, and now he is more understanding about it!

Sounds like you have a good plan!

    Have a good one!
